Firefly Arts Collective
Firefly is a weeklong arts festival that happens in the woods of Vermont over the 4th of July, inspired by the Ten Principles of Burning Man. I sat on the Board of Directors for several years as the primary liaison for arts, programming, and community outreach, in addition to serving as the Vice President.
As Vice President, I was responsible for a major reorganization of the festival’s core team with the goal of efficiently scaling to accommodate the festival’s growing attendees. The yearlong reorganization effort enabled the festival’s production team to more efficiently respond to Firefly’s growing needs with less direct management from the Board of Directors.
In addition to managing the annual festival, I also produced satellite events in the Boston area to showcase the art and ethos of Firefly in order to increase community engagement and grow our festival’s audience. These pop-up galleries throughout the year served as important events to bring people together and increase both interest and anticipation for the main event.
During my 4 years overseeing community outreach and programming, the festival’s attendance grew from 300 to over 1000.
