The Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) is an international nonprofit alliance formed in 2013 to accelerate progress in genomics research and human health by setting technical standards and framing policies for the field.
While at the Broad Institute, I helped incubate and eventually launch the Global Alliance. Assisting the Chief Development Officer of the Broad Institute, I worked with the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research to identify strategic partners and develop strategies for building policy consensus on our initiative.
In 2013, we launched the Global Alliance with a kick-off event in New York City. Over 70 international organizations signed on as initial signatories to our letter of intent, including partners from over 20 world leaders in cloud computing, biotechnology, and healthcare.
As of 2018, there are now over 500 organizational partners with the Global Alliance representing healthcare, research, patient advocacy, life science, and information technology industries.
